African American Skin Care - Using Facial Peels For Skin Rejuvenation

Every woman wants to look glamorous. It's an innate human tendency to want to steal the show when you walk into a room. Women young and mature would give their right arm for a blemish free complexion. Maybe!

However, not everyone is blessed with clear skin. But most of you want to the belle of the ball. The introduction of facial peels have come as a boon for both men and women whose skin is marred with acne marks, sun spots, black heads and pigmentation.

Have you heard of Photo facial? Well, this light based technology uses photons to rejuvenate the face. Photo facials, are often used by dermatologists to lighten acne scars as well as brown spots that both men and women develop with age.

Similarly, there are many non abrasive-resurfacing technologies that help get rid of the dull outer layer of skin comprising mostly of dead skin cells to reveal more youthful skin beneath the surface.

Though some might want debate the effectiveness of facial peels, whether done by photons or micro dermabrasion particles, these are quite expensive as well as impinging treatments.

Some people of color shy away from them as they involve skin resurfacing by using LED and other equipments.

Facial peels have proven to be extremely beneficial for tackling all the above mentioned skin problems along with reducing fine lines and large pores and correcting uneven skin tone.

Yeah, but what if you have lots of melanin in your skin? It's a challenge! Peels might not be the best treatment for your beautiful black skin, especially if you want to keep it that way. But knowledge of what a peel is and does is always good to have.

Some of you will benefit greatly from peels and resurfacing treatments while others will find yourselves challenged. As with any treatment done on your skin, tread waters lightly.

These are some of the services provided for skin rejuvenation as well having an anti-aging effect. Some of the most popular types of facial peels are given below:
  • Plant Acid Peels: These use plant derivatives such as Alpha and Beta Hydroxy for skin rejuvenation.
  • Trichloroacetic acid Peel: This is more commonly known as TCA peel and is effective for treating acne scars as well as fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Laser peel therapy: As the name clearly suggests, this facial peel utilizes intense laser beams to lighten acne and pigmentation spots. As the laser beams penetrate into the deeper skin layers, they stimulate new cell growth and facilitate healthy skin appearance.
  • Chemical Peels: This should only be performed by certified practitioners in a proper clinic. A strong chemical called Phenol is used for the purpose of skin resurfacing in this process. Though some ruddiness and inflammation may occur after getting this treatment, it is completely safe.
You can see a visible difference in your complexion in a matter of few days after going for one of the above-mentioned facial peels.

While it's not a good idea to peel your skin, some of you will insist on the procedure because itís being pushed as the thing to do.

When you use a peel, you are actually removing the top layer of your skin. This makes your skin very susceptible to the rays of the sun. If you do not protect your newly peeled skin from the sun you will burn.

If you peel your skin to often, your skin will turn dark. Remember, you've got the element of melanin to deal with and every time you attempt to lighten it, bleach it or peel it you've got some interesting challenges that will occur.
