Eye Lash Extensions? Oh My!

Eye Lash Extensions? Oh My!

Have you ever experienced having individual lashes added to your existing lashes? The first time I had this process done, I was a student in aesthetic school. What an experience!

Not only did they look like fans on my face, the next morning I woke up with lashes on my pillow. We've come a long way with lashes since then.

I was privy to receiving an individual eyelash extension service. I served as a model for a young lady applying for a job in a salon that specializes in eyelash extensions.

Tucked away in a quaint little office complex, salon owner Roz Blackmon has established a nice facility and environment. Although the salon specializes in eyelash extensions, the facility offers other services as well as permanent makeup, hair, airbrush spray tanning and facials.

The Lash Extension Consultation

Ebony Brown did the consultation and service. The one thing I liked in her consultation was that she cared enough to ask me what type of look I wanted to achieve.

Now you're probably thinking, why wouldn't she consider my wants and desires? You'd be surprised at what stylist and makeup artist think when it comes to your treatment.

I'm a minimalist when it comes to makeup but you'd be surprised at how many times I've carefully explained what I'd like to achieve and when I looked into the mirror, I was homey the clown.

The Lash Extension Treatment

The Salon manager, Sharon Baker, was observing Ebony. Now all of you know what it's like to be under a microscope. No fun! But Sharon was on the money, attentive but not all up in her face.

She put eye pads on to hold down my lower lids. This would keep any of my eyelashes on the bottom lid from getting caught up in the treatment of the upper lid. It felt weird as all get out, but it was part of the process. I endured! Once Ebony worked through her nerves, she was on a roll. She settled in and so did I.

The ultimate compliment to any esthetician or massage therapist is to have your client fall asleep. To tell you how good she was and how relaxed I was, I fell asleep and woke myself up snoring. Lol!!!

Once she finished, she gave me a mirror and I kid you not, I saw a natural looking set of lashes. No fans for lashes and more importantly she listened to what I'd asked of her.

Now that's what I call service.
