Black Skin Care Products: Quality vs Quantity

Have you ever found yourself low on cash and can't buy your favorite black skin care product? So you out and buy something just to get you through until you can afford to come back to the "Real Thing".

The "Real Thing" is your quality creamy product that gives your skin that smooth, soft, subtle softness.

You couldn't quite pull the money together to purchase your quality product so you ended up at your local pharmacy and purchased the over the counter product that's really designed for other peoples skin but a face that looks like yours has been placed on the box to get your attention.

Why look for black skin care products of quality?

Ingredients play an important role when it comes to the quality of a product and what it can do for your skin.

Shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter ... these are just the beginning of a great foundation for skin care products for black skin .

When you rub a good skin care cream between your fingers you can feel the quality of the product. There's a creamy richness that flows across your fingers and this lets you know that the product has a certain consistency.

You can feel the cheapness in a product, your fingers and your skin aren't lying to you.

Quality vs Quantity in Black Skin Care Products

I had a client tell me that she couldn't afford my products because they were too expensive. What is expensive? She'd gone to a big brand discount store and purchased skin care products to tied her over.

She told me that she could get two for the price of one when it came to a cleanser and toner. I knew the store, I knew the product line and more importantly I know my product line. So I waited.

About two months after our first conversation, she called and told me she wanted to return to the good stuff, my products.

I completely understood her position but sometimes when you search out a less expensive product, you get what you pay for. This concept includes food, clothing and skin care products.

Cheap or inexpensive food does not nourish your body, cheap/inexpensive clothing doesn't often last past the third washing or dry cleaning and cheap/inexpensive skin care can definitely damage your skin.

If you find that you're challenged with purchasing a good quality skin care product line, modify your usage. Sometimes we have a tendency to use too much of a product. Become mindful of how much you're using. This will allow you to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your product. You will also become mindful of possible waste.

Shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, jojoba oil, shea oil, olive oil ... just to name a few are all ingredients that give a skin care line the basis for a good quality product.

A note about television and magazine promos, if you're being offered 4 or 5 free samples, red flags should go up. What types of ingredients are you being served up in a given skin care line that will allow them to offer you so many 'free' samples?

Go for quality in a skin care product for black skin. In the end, it's the quality of a product that's going to nurture and nourish your skin and help you keep it's flawless radiant glow.
